Smart Rename is built on strict data minimization:

• No Account Creation: You do not need to register, log in, or provide personal details (such as email, name, or phone number) to use the app.
• No File Access or Uploads: We do not collect, view, upload, or store your photos, videos, documents, custom filenames, folder configurations, or metadata.

2. Device Permissions (Used Strictly On-Device)

Smart Rename requests permissions only when needed to perform core file-management tasks locally on your device:

• Storage / Media Library: Required to scan, rename, organize, and save files within your selected directories.
• Camera: Required only when capturing photos or videos directly within the app for instant smart folder sorting.
• Microphone (Optional): Required only for real-time speech-to-text dictation if you add voice notes to files. Voice processing is handled by native on-device APIs and is never recorded or transmitted.

3. Local Storage

All photos, videos, PDFs, documents, smart presets, and custom settings remain 100% on your local device. No user files are synchronized or transmitted to developer-owned servers or cloud storage.

4. In-App Screen Analytics (Aggregate & Anonymous)

To help us understand how the app is used and improve overall navigation, the app collects aggregated, non-personally identifiable usage statistics (via Google Analytics for Firebase):

• Screen Views & Navigation: We track total aggregate visit counts to specific screens (e.g., Settings screen, Smart Folder overview, or Batch Rename tools) to see which features are most useful.
• No Individual Tracking: This data is aggregated in bulk across all users and is never linked to your personal identity, device ID, or user profile.
• No File Data Included: Analytics logs contain zero information about your photos, file names, folder names, voice notes, or file contents.

5. App Crash Reports & Diagnostics

We may receive non-identifiable technical diagnostic data and crash logs provided automatically by Google Play or Apple App Store to help us fix crashes and maintain stability. This information contains no personal details or file contents.

6. Third-Party Sharing & Advertising

We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your data with third-party advertisers or data brokers. The app contains no third-party advertisements.

7. Data Retention & User Control

Because all data exists only on your device and no cloud accounts exist:

• Full Ownership: You retain complete ownership and control over your files at all times. You can edit, rename, move, or delete files directly through the app or your phone's native file manager.
• Android (Google Play): Files saved to your device's shared storage directories (such as DCIM, Pictures, or Documents) remain intact and accessible on your device even if you uninstall the app.
• iOS (Apple App Store): Due to Apple’s standard app sandboxing security, files stored strictly inside the app’s internal local sandbox directory are removed when the app is deleted. Media saved to your native Apple Photos library remains unaffected.

8. Children's Privacy

Smart Rename is a general utility tool that does not collect any personal data from any user, including children under the age of 13.
